Listings at JED for JV-ContentLinks and JV-Relatives

Rate this Entry
If you would have noticed in the recent past, our extensions - JV-ContentLinks and JV-Relatives have been removed from JED (Joomla Extensions Directory at Home - Joomla! Extensions Directory). This is due to the JED policy that, only GPL extensions are welcome in their listings from July 1st 2009. This is not a sudden development at JED. JED had notified the extensions development community in December 2008 on this policy change and, this announcement was debated heavily at the Joomla forums.

JV-ContentLinks was ranked #1 in Site Links category and JV-Relatives was ranked #2 in Related Items category at the time of de-listing. It is really unfortunate that the most popular listings in the respective categories have been removed . Newer users of Joomla will longer be able to know, that these popular extensions exists or ever existed in the JED.

Well, let me assure you that, this is not a hate post against JED. JED has every right to have their own terms for listing of extensions and we respect their policies and the enforcement of them. We thank Joomla for their continued and insatiable efforts to drive the community and get Joomla to the next generation world class CMS. Infact we are proud to be a part of the Joomla community.
