Yes you are right... For example, if a product purchase charge is $10 half-yearly, then you will be charged $10 once every 6 months.

For lifetime purchase option, the fee is not recurring.

can you explain a bit further about this? it will maybe help me understand the featured links subscription/recurring process.

is this a function that is called somehow through joomla/component or is this something that gets set by paypal on the paying account? I am curious to know how this works both here for my possible subscription and also for the featured link subscription process that is installed as part of jv-linx.

    thanks!

What has been discussed in the top 2 posts are not related to featured links functionality of JV-LE or JV-LD. They are related to the product purchase options at JV-Extensions website.
    Hope you dont get confused.

    Thanks

right, I am interested in possible purchase, so I am also interested in that same question.

but it has made me wonder though how it happens, both in this instance mentioned (meaning - is my payment info and schedule stored on your site or on paypal?)

and also in the functionality of the JV-Link extensions (it has that option to "subscribe" to have featured links).

    Purchasing at JV-Extensions:
When you purchase a product, you get 2 options - subscription purchase or lifetime purchase. If you choose a subscription purchase, then you can decide the duration (once in 3/6/12 months) and rates vary accordingly. All subscription purchases are recurring - means that you will pay the fee once in that duration. Subscription is created at Paypal (We dont store any of your info in our site) and Paypal will automatically renew the subscription at the end of the period, unless you cancel it at Paypal. More info at, http://www.jv-extensions.com/en/148-...questions.html

For lifetime option, its a one time payment. No recurring payments in this case.

and also in the functionality of the JV-Link extensions (it has that option to "subscribe" to have featured links).
In JV-LD product, your customers can purchase featured links by either subscribing at Paypal using JV-LD or buy a featured link permanently by paying once at Paypal, again via JV-LD. You can decide the type of options that you want to give to your customers in JV-LD

    Thanks

I have a question about recurring too.

If I buy for 4 months, do I have to pay every 4 months If I don't want updates and support? Will the script stop working if I cancel the recurring payment?

You need to continue paying every 4 months, only if you want to get continued updates, downloads, support access, documentation access. Otherwise, you can cancel anytime.

If you cancel the recurring payment, the script will continue to work. You own the copy of JV-LD that you purchase. It will NOT stop working anytime.

    Thanks
