JV-SE 4.0 is almost ready for release next week. Once its released, work on JV-ContentLinks 2.3 will start soon. We are planning some exciting new features for JV-ContentLinks, apart from working on current pending items in our support forums.

We will keep everyone updated on the developments. You may post feature requests if any, in our feature requests forum for JV-ContentLinks.

    Hi

Just wanted to follow up on this one.

I see that 2.3 is out now - is it stable or still beta?

In the downloadsection you link to the changelog, but I cannot see anything in regards of 2.3?

Is upgrade done by overwriting files via FTP or simply uninstalling the 2.2 I run and re-installing 2.3 ?

JV-CL 2.3 is the next stable version of JV-CL. It is not a beta version. It has been released to accomodate the GPL licensing for JV-CL. There are no new features in JV-CL 2.3 except for the GPL license changes.

It is the same upgrade procedure as for any previous version of JV-CL as in http://www.jv-extensions.com/jv-cl-d...tentlinks.html. This is not a compulsory upgrade though. You may upgrade, once we release the next version (2.4) with new features.

Okay, I just upgraded and have a very strange result.

It links without using the full words - let me explain.

If I have both "member" and "membership" as CL keywords, whenever it says "membership" in the text, only "member" is marked as link and then "ship" is not a link.

    ?????

It's like the way you check for the given word has been changed - like if you removed the check to see if the CL keyword is just part of a given word in the content.

    Are you aware of this?

Do you remember the build number by any chance?

Nothing on functionality or feature has changed from v2.2 build 72 to 2.3 build-12. So i am thinking if you were using a version older than 2.2 build-72, if you see any change in behaviour.

There has been a change in the way the keywords are linked, in build-72 of JV-CL 2.2. Joomla does not provide UTF-8 compatible alternatives to all PHP functions and hence the behaviour had to be changed from build-62 when we tried to get JV-CL support UTF-8.

Vijay will check the same and will see if we can get the old behavior in the next version or if there is a workaround possible in the coming builds. We will keep this thread updated.
