I wonder if there is any template with a layout ideal for JV-SE preferable for 3 columns (Style # 3) or alternatively (Style # 2).

JV-SE 4.0 does not use templates for now. It has 3 different styles for directory display -

1. style #1: for 1 column display
2. style #2: for 2 columns display
3. style #3: for 3 columns display

You can edit the default style sheet from utilities section to create custom templates.
Templates will be introduced in JV-SE in the coming versions.
