a. PENDING PAYMENT: When a visitor places a request for adding a link on a keyword in an article, he gives all the details about the request and is finally taken to paypal for payment. At this juncture, the link is in PENDING PAYMENT state.
b. IN USE: This is the state of the keyword link, once the payment is done and the link is created for the keyword. The keyword will appear with the link, only when the state of the link is in this state. If the link is in EXPIRED state, the admin can manually move a keyword link to IN USE state, by just altering the ad expiry date to a date later than today.
c. EXPIRED: A link can be added for a keyword permanently or on a duration basis. Once the duration for the link expires, the keyword link automatically moves to this state. If the link is in IN USE state, the admin can manually move a keyword link to EXPIRED state, by just altering the ad expiry date to a date earlier than today.
d. ARCHIVED: This is more of a book keeping state, where by you want to maintain the records, just to ensure that, you can refer back to them anytime in the future. Once archived, the link is invalid and it exists only for record purposes.
