Twitter changes authentication method from Basic to OAuth

Recent announcement from Twitter suggest that, they have deprecated the Basic Authentication method , that is used to access and update Twitter data from applications. JV-LD has a plugin that will enable tweets to be posted in directory's (or administrator) twitter account, when someone publishes a link in the directory. And JV-LD uses Basic authentication to post to twitter.

Due to the recent change, we will be working on incorporating OAuth authentication in JV-LD plugin, to get this working. Till then the JV-LD plugin for Twitter will run successfully, but the tweet will not be posted in Twitter account. We have already started work on this migration from Basic authentication to OAuth and we will issue a notification to all, once this is done.

First Maintenance Release of JV-LD 4.5

As with every version of JV-LD, we provide a minor or major version release and usually follow it up with maintenance releases that increases the stability of the product. In the same lines, today, we have released the first maintenance release of JV-LinkDirectory 4.5, which is JV-LD 4.5 Build-288.

JV-LD 4.5 Build-288 has fixes for several bugs, some of which are important, especially if you are using SMTP to send emails from Joomla for JV-LD or if you have enabled link statistics to be sent to link owners. All customers are requested to upgrade to this maintenance release as soon as possible.

This release does not have any database level changes. Hence instead of going through the regular upgrade process of un-installation
