I should have said this a long time back but better late than never and thanksgiving is probably best time to thank Joomla. Joomla practically turned my life on its head and helped me look beyond my own boundaries.

Few years ago when I started a web Development Company without any experience whatsoever in web development (I still wonder why I did that sometimes) my 1st client told me he wanted a CMS. I was chasing this guy for a month to get his project and I didn’t want to lose this contract, so I said yes without knowing what the hell CMS is. That night I kept asking questions about CMS to my best friend google and it kept giving me zillions of answers. I kept reading through all the information and I realized this is just beyond my expertise. When I was really tired and was about to give up I stumbled across something called mambo which at the time I decided to give a try just because it the name sounded familiar (the sound track of mambo no. 5).

Even after spending a lot of months with mambo and joomla I still didn’t have any idea about what GPL is, why exactly are these guys giving away such a great system for free. Intrigued by this thought I kept reading whatever I can get hold of about GPL about Joomla. I am not sure I still understand it all and I am not a programmer, so I can’t help the community in way other programmers do. But I am trying my best with translations and helping in forums. I don’t know how much it helped others but it helped me a lot in getting business as well as being a better person.

I just want to thank you joomla and everyone involved in Joomla you have made a huge difference to my life for sure.

I hope I can contribute more and show my gratitude in action rather than words

Nik
