We are glad to announce the next release of JV-LinkExchanger Standard Edition. As this release involves major security implementations, we have moved several of our objectives of v3.2.0 to v3.3.0. Nevertheless we have managed to add a couple of new features in this release as well!

This release contains major changes to JV-SE component and modules. Major changes given in this release include a new security framework for JV-SE, email communication facility from with in the link information screen to get in touch with the respective partners, implementations of a few suggestions from our customers and several minor bug fixes. The module has been enhanced with 2 new feature that include display of thumbnails instead of title and displaying the description along with title in module based on configuration options.

August 10th 2008 package contains a major change in the JV-SE Traffic system plugin. As there is no change in the JV-SE component or module, existing users of the JV-SE component or module need not upgrade or install or uninstall anything.

This package is applicable only for those who want to use JV-SE traffic system plugin on Joomla 1.5.x legacy mode. Our team detected a couple of incompatibilties of the plugin with Joomla 1.5.x legacy mode and hence have created a new plugin exclusively for use with Joomla 1.5.x legacy mode.

All users of JV-SE are requested to upgrade to this version. This is the last series of JV-SE for Joomla 1.0.x. v2.1.1 is a minor build update exclusively released for certifying JV-SE on Joomla 1.5.x legacy mode. All users of JV-SE are requested to upgrade to this version. JV-SE v2.1.1 can be safely used on both Joomla 1.0.x and Joomla 1.5.x (legacy mode).

Other problems, new features and feedbacks from users of JV-SE v2.1.0 are being worked on currently and will be addressed in the next major release of JV-SE.

If you are not already using v2.1.0, then we strongly recommend you to upgrade to v2.1.0 first, before upgrading to v2.1.1.

v2.1.0 is the first minor version release of JV-LinkExchanger Standard Edition. The update released on November-25-2007 addresses the following important areas of JV-SE:

1. Security: The update contains very important security measures against common PHP and Joomla exploits making JV-SE a very safe component to use.
2. Performance: Caching has been introduced in the design for fetching and displaying of PR, thus decreasing the directory loading time and improving the performance
3. Protection against SPAMMING: JV-SE now contains enhanced protection against spamming and looping attacks with additional CAPTCHA security for link and banner request forms, thus ensuring peace of mind.
4. New Features: A number of new features have also been introduced in v2.1.0 of JV-SE
5. Bug Fixes: v2.1.0 also has contains the fixes for all problem reported in the previous versions.

We strongly recommend existing users to upgrade to this version immediately to ensure that they stay updated with the new security measures, features and fixes.
