JV-ContentLinks 4.4 Released and 20% Discount!

2020-11-07 10:39 AM By Deepa

We are super excited for our JV-ContentLinks customers as we released 4.4 version last week. JV-ContentLinks 4.4 is a maintenance and enhancement release of JV-ContentLinks. The most significant change introduced is the Partial Keyword Search and Replacement option. This is the ability to search for a keyword in articles even if they don't appear as full words, and replace it with links. This is useful when you have keywords that need to be linked but the words do not have a boundary around them.

JV-ContentLinks is a Joomla extension that lets you create SEO validated hyperlinks on keywords in your Joomla articles, K2 items and EasyBlog posts without the need to open the editor. It takes only a few seconds to created links on keywords that you wish to from frontend and backend.  You can remove links on the keywords based on date and this helps you manage all hyperlinks on keywords in articles in a single place conveniently.

Partial Keyword Search and Replacements

Let us take an example here to illustrate this feature. Here is a sample paragraph of text:

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English

In the above paragraph, you may want to link the word "read" (without quotes). If you closely observe the above content, there is no occurrence of the word "read" in it. "read" appears in the sentence as part of another word, infact 3 times viz. reader, readable and readable again. If you configure JV-ContentLinks for "Full Word Search" (set to Yes), then it will try to match a fully occurring word in the content. In this case, the word "read" does not appear as a whole word and hence no link will be created.

On the contrary, if you configure JV-ContentLinks for "Full Word Search" set to "No", then it means that it is a partial word search. In such a case, "read" will match in 3 places and replaced with links.

Other Changes

In addition to several bug fixes, we have also introduced other significant changes as follows:

  1. MySQL 5.7 compatibility
  2. Date time fields have been changed to allow NULL instead of 0000-00-00 00:00:00
  3. PHP 7.4 compatibility
  4. Fixed setError deprecated messages
  5. Fixed links and copyright notices.
